On 17 October 2026, we asked ChatGPT (GPT-4.1 with web search) to name the best AI consulting firms. It started with McKinsey, BCG and Bain, then named Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, PwC and EY. Capgemini, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys and Wipro followed. A boutique firm appeared only after all of them. That answer might work for a Fortune 500 board. It is less useful if you run operations at a 200-person company and need one piece of AI working in the business by spring. The right AI consulting firms for a company that size may look very different from the ones ChatGPT names first.
AI consulting is tilting toward firms that build. In May 2026, OpenAI launched the OpenAI Deployment Company with more than $4 billion from 19 firms led by TPG. It named Bain, Capgemini and McKinsey among its integrators (Constellation Research) and agreed to buy Tomoro, a London consultancy founded in 2023. OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap described the demand directly: "Our customers tell us they need help going from pilot to production" (The Next Web). The figures tell a similar story. Deloitte's 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise survey found that only about a quarter of organizations had moved 40% or more of their AI pilots into production (Techstrong.ai). McKinsey's 2026 survey found that 37% of respondents saw any EBIT impact from AI, roughly the same share as a year earlier (FM Magazine).
The useful question isn't which firm can produce the prettiest AI strategy deck. It's which firm can help you choose a sound first use case and get it into production. This list is for operations, finance and product leaders at mid-sized companies who need both from one consulting firm. We split the field into twelve mid-market AI consulting companies that advise and build, scored against six criteria, plus five enterprise firms that most buyers already know, described but not scored. These AI consulting firms differ in price, scope and the businesses they serve. A shared list doesn't make them interchangeable.
Disclosure: Idea Link prepared this list and is included in it. Every mid-market firm, including Idea Link, was scored against the same six criteria using Clutch profiles and each firm's own website as checked on 17 October 2026. On 18 October 2026, we reviewed partner claims against public vendor partner directories; NVIDIA's directory was unavailable. We then tightened the partner rule and applied it to every firm. On 18 October 2026, Idea Link updated its AI consulting page to say that its paid Sprint produces ranked AI use cases and a fixed build quote. The deliverables score reflects that updated page. On the 17 October version of the page, Idea Link would have scored 9 in total. Idea Link scored 10, tied with five other firms, and finished fifth overall after the tie-break.
Best pick by use case
| If you need... | Best pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A priced proof of concept and a ranked roadmap with ROI per initiative | InData Labs | Publishes a 1-2 week readiness assessment and a PoC at $15,000-$50,000 over 4-8 weeks |
| An agent inside your product, approved against one agreed metric | Vstorm | Its Proof of Value only moves to a build if it meets the metric agreed up front |
| An AI strategy with financial models, for a bank or insurer | 10Clouds | Ranked use cases and a financial model per initiative, now for financial services only |
| A small paid test before committing | Netguru | The AI Agents Workshop costs EUR 3,000 for 3-6 hours |
| Machine learning on a data platform, Databricks included | Addepto | A Databricks consulting partner that built Western Governors University's ML platform |
| AI inside custom operational software, with no engineering team of your own | Idea Link | A fixed €7,000-15,000 Design & Architecture Sprint over 2-4 weeks that orders the work by payback and ends in a fixed build quote |
| Senior ML engineers for a hard LLM or voice problem | deepsense.ai | Rebuilt Docplanner's booking voicebot, which doubled booking conversions |
| The lowest hourly rate | Azumo | $25-$49 an hour on Clutch and a published price for every stage |
| One AI idea tested in a week | Boldare | A fixed-price AI Opportunity Sprint, with the fee credited to the build |
| A board-level AI programme | McKinsey or BCG | QuantumBlack and BCG X attach build teams to strategy work |
| AI tied into a large IT or ERP programme | Accenture, IBM or Deloitte | Large delivery benches, AI alliances with Anthropic, Google, NVIDIA or OpenAI, and no published minimums |
What an AI consulting firm actually does
An AI consulting firm helps a company decide where AI makes sense and, in stronger cases, builds the system. Consulting often starts with interviews and a review of your data. The firm ranks possible use cases, then builds a business case for the best candidates. Next comes software development. The model must read from your systems and write back to them, run on infrastructure someone maintains, pass testing, be monitored, and eventually reach someone who can change it. That work looks less like data science than plumbing. It's also where many pilots stall.
Many consulting firms sell only the first half. The pilot-to-production figures above give you a sense of what happens after the deck is done. A strategy deck that never reaches an engineer is a document. A build team that never asks why it's building is a cost. The mid-market firms below all say they handle both, so our criteria look for evidence of each: a named client running an AI system in production, and a published account of what the consulting phase provides.
For companies comparing AI consulting firms, the difference matters. A useful firm ties strategy to the work of building and accounts for the data, the model and the surrounding systems. Our AI consulting page lays out our three-phase process, from discovery through delivery. If you're still figuring out where AI fits in your business, the free AI audit runs inside your own ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity and returns five to seven specific opportunities without asking you to hand over any data.
How we chose and scored them
Many lists of top AI consulting firms rank companies by brand or Clutch rating. Every rated firm here lands between 4.7 and 5.0, so the rating alone doesn't tell buyers much. We scored mid-market firms on six criteria, with 0 to 2 points for each and 12 points possible. Each criterion tracks something a buyer can check. A 0 means we couldn't find the information published, not that the firm can't do the work.
- Ships to production. 2 points for a named client whose AI system the firm built and describes on its own site or in a Clutch review as live, deployed or in use; 1 for AI work shown only as proofs of concept, pilots or anonymous cases; 0 for no AI case studies.
- Priced first step. 2 points for a published consulting, discovery or proof-of-concept engagement with both a stated length and price; 1 for a defined phase with one of the two, or neither; 0 for a free call only. A fixed-price build package doesn't count.
- Verified reviews. 2 points for 15 or more Clutch reviews, with the newest from the last 12 months; 1 for 3-14 reviews or an older newest review; 0 for fewer than three.
- Budget fit. The published minimum project size, taken from the firm's own site when stated and from Clutch otherwise (a workshop or PoC price is not a minimum project size): 2 points for $25,000 or less, 1 for up to $50,000, 0 above that or when no minimum is published.
- Consulting deliverables. 2 points for a published consulting offer whose deliverables include both a prioritized list of AI use cases and a cost estimate, business case or ROI model; 1 for deliverables with only one of the two; 0 for none.
- Partner credentials. We award 2 points for at least two AI or cloud partner statuses above a free or registration-only level (AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks, Snowflake or NVIDIA), 1 point for one status and 0 for none. A status qualifies if the vendor's public partner directory shows a tier above that level or a designation. A vendor-issued badge also qualifies when the directory doesn't list that level and doesn't contradict the badge. If the directory contradicts a claim, we don't count it. Registration-only entries don't qualify either, including Google or Anthropic Registered, a Databricks listing without a tier, or a Microsoft listing without a Solutions Partner designation.
We set the criteria before examining any firm. For ties, the firm with more Clutch reviews ranks first, the same rule we use for our other lists. Six firms scored 10: 10Clouds (95 reviews), Netguru (73), Vstorm (22), InData Labs (20), Idea Link (17) and deepsense.ai (10). Azumo and Addepto tied at 9, Boldare and Miquido at 8, and LeewayHertz and Neurons Lab at 7. Idea Link lost two points on partner credentials because it holds none of the statuses we count. It's registered for Anthropic's Claude Partner Network, but registration alone doesn't qualify.
| Company | Ships | Priced start | Reviews | Budget | Deliverables | Partners | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10Clouds | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 10 |
| Netguru | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 10 |
| Vstorm | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 10 |
| InData Labs | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 10 |
| Idea Link | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 10 |
| deepsense.ai | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 10 |
| Azumo | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 9 |
| Addepto | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 9 |
| Boldare | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 8 |
| Miquido | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 8 |
| LeewayHertz | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 7 |
| Neurons Lab | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 7 |
A ranking earns its place only if a score can move a firm down the page, so a few results deserve a closer look. InData Labs publishes the clearest consulting offer here, but its production evidence comes from 2017 and 2021. Checking partner claims against vendor directories changed several scores. AWS's partner finder doesn't show the AWS Select status InData Labs announced in 2022 or the one 10Clouds announced in 2023. InData Labs and Addepto appear in Databricks' partner directory without a tier, so we don't count either listing. Vstorm's site displays an OpenAI Select badge, but OpenAI's partner directory didn't list the company. Neurons Lab announced OpenAI and Anthropic Select status on 12 October 2026; neither vendor directory listed it when we checked. That may be a delay. We'll check again at the next update. We also reviewed Alice Labs, a Stockholm firm ChatGPT names among the boutiques, and excluded it. It has one Clutch review, for custom software and design work rather than AI. Every mid-market company on this list has at least three.
Mid-market AI consulting firms
These twelve consulting companies serve businesses below the enterprise line. Compared with the big five, they publish more about prices and first steps, and they build what they recommend, including the software and infrastructure around the model. Their order follows the scores, with Clutch review counts breaking ties. For companies weighing AI consulting firms, each entry describes the work a firm can take on, along with the evidence and trade-offs we found.
1. 10Clouds

10Clouds is a Warsaw software company that has built software since 2009. In April 2026, it formally merged with 10Clouds Financial Institutions. The combined firm now works only in financial services and agentic commerce. Clutch rates it 4.9 across 95 reviews, with a $25,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99.
Its AI strategy offer is one of the clearest consulting offers in this group. The two-to-four-week AI Strategy Workshop or the eight-to-twelve-week Managed AI Roadmap ranks use cases across business units and builds "detailed financial models" for every shortlisted initiative. Neither has a published price. Its clearest named production case is Polfund, where 10Clouds implemented SmartLead AI to collect tender notices and surface opportunities for the sales team. Other named work is at an earlier stage: the BNP Paribas Bank Polska account-opening assistant was a joint proof of concept, while PZU's sales automation is still being tested. Most of the 95 Clutch reviews describe general development work from before the AI focus, and the newest review tagged with AI work dates to 2024. Anthropic's public partner directory shows 10Clouds Financial Institutions at Select tier. AWS's partner finder doesn't show the AWS Select status 10Clouds announced in 2023.
Best for: banks, insurers and lenders looking for a ranked AI roadmap with financial models from a firm that can also build.
2. Netguru

Netguru is a Poznań software company founded in 2008, with more than 400 people. Clutch rates it 4.8 across 73 reviews, with a $50,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99. Its homepage now leads with "AI-native commerce."
Its first step has the lowest published price on this list. The AI Agents Workshop costs EUR 3,000 for three to six hours and produces use cases ranked by impact and feasibility, plus a pilot roadmap, but no cost estimate. An AI proof of concept costs between EUR 15,000 and 25,000. Its production case is a RAG chatbot for the International Team for Implantology, launched to several hundred dental practitioners in Istanbul in May 2026. The Merck and ARC Europe projects were proofs of concept. Microsoft's public directory lists Netguru as a Solutions Partner for Data & AI and Digital & App Innovation, while AWS lists it as a Select partner. Netguru's 2021 blog post announced AWS Advanced status, and its partners page still uses Microsoft's retired Gold Partner label. The low-cost entry comes with a recurring Clutch complaint about price: "their services were just too expensive for us", wrote one 2022 reviewer.
Best for: companies that want a small paid test of whether agents fit and have the budget for a larger product team afterward.
3. Vstorm

Vstorm is an agentic AI consultancy in Wrocław, founded in 2017, with more than 40 people, 25 of them AI engineers. Clutch rates it 4.9 across 22 reviews, with a $10,000 minimum and the highest rate band on this list, $100-$149 an hour, shared with deepsense.ai.
Its consulting process ends at a clear gate. Vstorm scores your workflows for value, feasibility and cost of error, writes a "business case with one metric," then runs a Proof of Value on your data. The build proceeds only if it meets that metric. The Transformation advisory package runs four to eight weeks, but Vstorm publishes no price. Its strongest evidence is the Mixam print-ordering agent, which Vstorm calls "the live Mixam AI Agent" and credits with raising conversion to sale from about 20% to about 40%. Tyce's CTO wrote on Clutch in July 2026 that a document-parsing feature is "making money for our customers." Vstorm's website displays an OpenAI Select Partner badge and an Anthropic Claude Certified Services Partner badge. Anthropic's public directory only lists partners at Select tier and above, so a badge for a lower level wouldn't appear there; we count it. OpenAI's partner directory didn't list Vstorm when we checked, so we don't count that status. One caution: only two Clutch reviews have appeared since the start of 2025. One, from Guardian Digital in January 2025 about a non-AI project, says Vstorm "failed to complete the project and left many core requirements incomplete."
Best for: product companies that want an agent inside their product and a business case agreed before the build starts.
4. InData Labs

InData Labs is an AI and data science company founded in 2014. Clutch lists its headquarters in Nicosia, Cyprus, with offices in Vilnius and Miami. The company says it has more than 80 engineers. Clutch rates it 4.9 across 20 reviews, with a $10,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99.
The company spells out its consulting offer more clearly than almost any other firm on this list. Its readiness assessment takes one to two weeks and produces an "AI readiness report, prioritized implementation roadmap, and ROI projections per initiative." A proof of concept usually takes four to eight weeks, and the homepage lists a PoC or MVP at $15,000 to $50,000. Its production evidence is older. Flo's CTO wrote on Clutch in 2017 that the period-tracking app InData Labs worked on "supports over 5 million active users per month". A 2021 reviewer from the games industry (Wargaming, according to InData Labs' own site) said an anti-fraud model "is now in production." The newest review, from November 2025, covers an AI physical-therapy MVP that is still ongoing, now in its second phase. One 2023 reviewer gave 3.5 stars: "The end result was not met, and the cost was well overpriced." Databricks' public directory lists InData Labs as a consulting and system integrator partner without a tier. Its 2022 blog post announced AWS Select Tier status, but AWS's partner finder doesn't show it today. Neither status qualifies here.
Best for: mid-sized companies with a data problem, such as forecasting, fraud or churn, that want a priced PoC and ranked roadmap before committing to a build.
5. Idea Link

Idea Link builds the custom operational software growing companies run on, then adds AI where it saves time. Founded in 2019, it has an in-house team of 20+ people in Kaunas and Vilnius and has shipped 100+ projects. Clutch rates it 5.0 across 17 reviews, with a $5,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99.
Every project starts with consulting: the Design & Architecture Sprint, a fixed €7,000-15,000 engagement over two to four weeks. It maps how the business runs, designs the architecture and every screen, sorts the work into modules by payback, and ends with a fixed build quote. You keep the plan whether or not you build with us. Builds start at €20,000-40,000. One AI system the company built is Uponlife, a platform that turns spoken memories into a printed book, with an AI question generator, a writing assistant and speech-to-text. Its founder wrote on Clutch in November 2025: "We launched our MVP successfully, onboarded our first customers, and hit all key milestones." For DataIst, it built a GDPR drafting platform where human experts check AI drafts. Our case study says it cuts legal spend on routine GDPR work by up to 70%. Avance's partner wrote on Clutch that the scoping of their complex project "could therefore perhaps have been more detailed." The Discover and Design phases on our AI consulting page take place inside the Sprint, which ranks AI use cases by business value and payback before the quote. Partner credentials account for two lost points: Idea Link doesn't hold any of the AI or cloud partner statuses included in our scoring.
Best for: a growing company without an engineering team that wants AI inside the software it runs on, starting with a fixed-price plan.
6. deepsense.ai

deepsense.ai is a Warsaw AI company founded in 2014, with an office in Palo Alto and 120 AI specialists. Clutch rates it 5.0 across 10 reviews, with a $25,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $100-$149. Its ten reviews put it below our 15-review bar.
Its advisory offers list durations but no prices: an AI Opportunity & Value Sprint of two to three weeks, and a four-to-eight-week AI Adoption Blueprint with a prioritized use-case portfolio, a 12-24 month roadmap and the "business rationale and investment logic" behind it. Its engineering record is strong. Docplanner's engineering manager wrote on Clutch in July 2026 that deepsense.ai "deployed improved scheduling assistant doubling booking conversions". Cato Networks reported six AI support agents with over 80% user satisfaction and 20% less time spent on tickets. Anthropic lists deepsense.ai at Select tier, OpenAI as an Advanced partner, and AWS and Google Cloud at Select. A February 2026 advisory client wanted "a clearer identification of the business outcomes behind specific recommendations."
Best for: companies with a hard LLM, voice or ML problem that want senior engineers and can pay top-band rates.
7. Azumo

Azumo is a San Francisco software company founded in 2016, with a nearshore team in Latin America and an office in Rosario, Argentina. Clutch rates it 4.9 across 27 reviews, with a $10,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $25-$49, the lowest on this list.
Azumo publishes a full AI price ladder: paid discovery listed at "up to 3 weeks or more" and "up to $10k+", a PoC of four to eight weeks at $10,000-$50,000, and a production system of two to five months at up to $150,000. Its pages don't fully agree: another FAQ starts PoC work at $15,000. Discovery leads to an estimate and roadmap rather than a ranked list of AI use cases. The firm's longest-running AI work is for Stovell AI, whose forecasting models it says have been "8+ years in production." We found no AI or cloud partner status. A June 2026 Clutch reviewer named one weak spot: "continuity of the team would be the one area I'd point to."
Best for: cost-conscious US companies that want a priced route from discovery to production at nearshore rates.
8. Addepto

Addepto is a Warsaw AI and data consultancy that Clutch lists as founded in 2017. KMS Technology, a US engineering company, acquired it in late 2025. Its Clutch profile now reads "Part of KMS Technology." Clutch rates it 4.9 across 19 reviews, with a $10,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99.
Its AI consulting page promises "a shortlist of use cases ranked by real business impact" and "ROI estimates you can defend to the board." A discovery workshop takes a few hours to two days, and a PoC takes two to six weeks. Neither has a published price. Its production evidence comes from named Clutch reviewers. Western Governors University's data and ML lead wrote that, on the platform Addepto built, "the AI models developed by our Data Scientists are immediately operational in business settings". Gamesture's reviewer wrote of the churn and lifetime-value models: "Models work on a daily basis and save results into our Database." Databricks' directory lists Addepto as a consulting and system integrator partner, but assigns no tier, so we don't count the listing toward partner credentials. One AI-auditing client's Clutch entry pairs a 4.0 review with a 0.5 update that says "The scanners built by Addepto do not function as required". The page's dates conflict on which review came last.
Best for: data-heavy companies, especially those using Databricks, whose data science teams want models in production and a business case to show the board.
9. Boldare

Boldare is a Gliwice software company founded in 2004, formed in its current shape by a 2018 merger, with more than 200 people. Clutch rates it 4.8 across 63 reviews, with a $25,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99.
Its AI Opportunity Sprint has a fixed price and a short schedule: one week for feasibility and an integration map, or two weeks for a full proof of concept. It ends with an ROI estimate that includes implementation cost. The fee is credited toward the build, but the price isn't published. Its named AI work is limited. A website chatbot for the travel agency Planet Escape "has effectively freed up time for travel consultants," and a construction prototype for Caniqo took 14 days. None of its 63 Clutch reviews describes AI work, and we found no AI or cloud partner status.
Best for: product companies that want to test one AI idea in a week or two before deciding on a build.
10. Miquido

Miquido is a Kraków software company founded in 2011, with more than 200 people. Clutch rates it 4.9 across 51 reviews, with a $25,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99. Its newest review is from June 2025, more than a year before we checked, so it scores 1 on reviews.
Its clearest priced offer is the AI Kickstarter: one generative AI solution in three to five weeks, from $15,000. That's a build package, so it doesn't count as a priced consulting step. Miquido's discovery and architecture assessments take 10 days to three weeks, with no price published. It has the strongest single production case in this part of the list. Miquido's credit scoring engine for Nextbank is "live in 7 financial institutions across Southeast Asia," and Miquido reports that it has processed over 500 million loan applications. The consulting side is thin on paper: its AI opportunity assessment publishes a scope but no deliverables, earning 0. AWS lists Miquido as a Select partner, while Google Cloud lists it at Select tier as a technology partner.
Best for: fintech and consumer-app companies that want one generative AI feature shipped in weeks from a published starting price.
11. LeewayHertz

LeewayHertz is an AI development company founded in 2007, listed on Clutch in Gurugram, India. The Hackett Group bought it in September 2024 for $7.8 million, according to Hackett's SEC filing, and committed up to $10 million to its ZBrain generative AI platform. The site footer now reads The Hackett Group.
Clutch rates it 4.7 across 9 reviews, with a $10,000 minimum and an hourly rate of $50-$99. The newest review is from July 2019, and none describes AI work. Its AI record comes from its own case studies. For NSG Group, "LeewayHertz deployed an AI-powered label verification solution" that checks label prints against templates. A dealer-support chatbot for URC runs on ZBrain. None of the case studies we read gives a number. The AI consulting page lists defined phases, from use-case analysis to solution architecture, and a proposal "with budget and timeline estimates," but gives no length or price for any phase. We found no partner status.
Best for: companies that want AI applications built on ZBrain, with Hackett's enterprise process consulting behind them.
12. Neurons Lab

Neurons Lab is a London AI consultancy founded in 2019, with an office in Singapore and more than 50 AI engineers, architects and analysts. AWS lists it as an Advanced partner with the AI Services Competency, including agentic AI consulting. Its site announced OpenAI and Anthropic Select status on 12 October 2026. Neither vendor directory listed it when we checked; that may be a delay, and we'll check again at the next update.
Its Clutch profile costs it points, including the full budget score. Clutch rates it 5.0 across 5 reviews, with the newest from June 2022 and a minimum project size of $100,000. For Peak Defence, a cybersecurity firm, it launched a generative AI audit and RFP tool on Amazon Bedrock within three months. The case study says the tool is "already allowing Peak Defence to take on more customers without expanding its headcount." Its discovery phase identifies use cases "based on feasibility and ROI," and its strategy page promises ROI modeling to decide which ones to prioritize. Neither has a published length or price. Several bank case studies describe training programmes rather than builds, and the site now focuses almost entirely on financial services.
Best for: banks, insurers and fintechs on AWS with a budget of $100,000 or more.
Enterprise AI consulting firms
These five firms run AI programmes for some of the world's largest companies, including plenty of names you'll recognize. None publishes a price or minimum engagement, and none has a Clutch profile, so we didn't score them. They're ordered by the most specific named production deployment we could verify. If you're looking for the biggest AI consulting firms, this is the group. If you run a 200-person company, check the revenue bands below before booking a call.
13. IBM Consulting

IBM Consulting is IBM's services arm, headquartered in Armonk, New York, with more than 150,000 consultants. IBM said in January 2026 that its generative AI book of business had passed $12.5 billion across software and consulting. On its July 2026 earnings call, generative AI made up about half of consulting signings, in a quarter when consulting revenue grew 0.2%.
Its clearest recent deployment is for Providence, a US health system: an HR agent built on watsonx Orchestrate and connected to the existing HR platform. After about eight months, IBM reports that managers spend 90% less time on hiring steps and caregivers move into new roles 12 days faster. IBM announced a dedicated OpenAI practice in August 2026 and a Google Cloud practice in June. Expect IBM's own stack, including watsonx and Red Hat, in the architecture.
Best for: large and regulated enterprises already running IBM or Red Hat that want AI agents inside existing enterprise platforms.
14. Accenture

Accenture, headquartered in Dublin, has about 814,000 people. In its first fiscal quarter of 2026, it reported $2.2 billion in advanced AI bookings and $1.1 billion in advanced AI revenue. Then it stopped reporting those figures because AI is now "embedded in some way across nearly everything we do."
For Google Cloud, Accenture built a multi-agent lead-enrichment system that "runs at production scale" and processes 25,000 inbound records in four hours instead of nearly a week. In June 2026, it launched Accenture Edge for mid-market companies, which Accenture defines as those with $300 million to $3 billion in annual revenue. Most mid-sized companies would be happy to qualify for that definition of mid-market.
Best for: large companies whose AI work is tied to cloud, ERP or operations programmes across many countries.
15. McKinsey (QuantumBlack)
McKinsey & Company has about 40,000 people and, according to CEO Bob Sternfels in January 2026, roughly 25,000 AI agents working alongside them. Its AI arm, QuantumBlack, has about 1,700 people. A senior partner put AI-driven work at about 40% of the firm's business. McKinsey is an OpenAI Frontier Alliance partner and one of the consulting partners behind the OpenAI Deployment Company.
Its clearest public build is older. For ING, QuantumBlack built a customer-service chatbot in seven weeks with guardrails against mortgage or investment advice. In 2024, it was handling 200 of 5,000 daily inquiries under human supervision (Consultor, citing The New York Times). We couldn't verify a newer named production deployment.
Best for: large companies where AI is a CEO-level priority and strategy, operating model and build teams need to move together.
16. Deloitte

Deloitte is a network of member firms coordinated from London, with nearly 500,000 people and $74.5 billion in revenue for the year to May 2026. Its agentic AI platform, Zora AI, is built on NVIDIA's stack, and Claude is available to 470,000 of its professionals.
In March 2025, Deloitte said Hewlett Packard Enterprise's finance team was rolling out Zora AI for Finance and expected it to cut reporting time by 50%. That was an expectation, not a result. Deloitte also has the most instructive AI story on this list: in October 2025, Deloitte Australia agreed to repay part of an A$439,000 government contract after a report it delivered contained AI-generated citations to academic reports that don't exist (TechCrunch).
Best for: companies that want AI bundled with audit, risk, tax and finance work on SAP, Oracle or Google Cloud.
17. BCG (BCG X)

Boston Consulting Group is headquartered in Boston, with 33,500 employees and $14.4 billion in 2025 revenue. BCG says more than 40% of that revenue now comes from AI- and technology-focused services, with AI services up 25% year on year. Its build unit, BCG X, has more than 3,000 technologists.
Its named AI build is for Reckitt: a four-month engagement in 2024 to build a platform that creates local ads in different languages and formats, expected to speed up local ad production by 30% (Consultor). Like McKinsey, BCG joined OpenAI's Frontier Alliances in February 2026 to cover strategy, operating model and change management alongside OpenAI's own engineers.
Best for: large companies that want AI strategy and organizational change led by a strategy firm, with BCG X building where it matters.
Enterprise or mid-market: how to choose
Start with revenue. Accenture Edge, the closest thing to a mid-market offer from the big five, starts at $300 million a year. Below that, you may be the smallest client in the room. Deloitte Private's March 2026 survey of 100 US private companies with $100 million to $1 billion+ in revenue found that 64% of those with $500 million or more reported moderate or significant ROI from AI, compared with 11% of those below that mark (Deloitte). Smaller companies don't need less help. They need help sized to their business.
Next, check that the firm you hire will still be there when the model meets your data, and after deployment, when the system needs ongoing care. Ask for a named client whose AI system is running now, not a proof of concept. Ask who owns the code, prompts and evaluation tests when the engagement ends. Ask whether your team, or another vendor, can change them without the original firm.
Buy one small, fixed piece of consulting first, then work through it before signing anything bigger. Of the twelve mid-market firms, four publish both the length and price of a first consulting engagement: InData Labs, Netguru, Idea Link and Azumo. A few weeks of paid scoping costs far less than building toward the wrong problem.
If you need an agent built rather than a strategy written, our list of the best AI agent development companies scores nine specialists on agent work specifically. If the task follows fixed rules, plain automation is usually cheaper than AI; automation vs AI explains the difference.
How much AI consulting companies charge
None of the five enterprise firms publishes a price. Among mid-market AI consulting companies, Clutch hourly rates range from $25-$49 (Azumo) to $100-$149 (Vstorm, deepsense.ai), while Clutch minimums run from $5,000 (Idea Link) to $100,000 (Neurons Lab). Published prices for the first step are less common:
- Netguru's AI Agents Workshop costs EUR 3,000 for three to six hours, and its AI proof of concept costs EUR 15,000-25,000.
- Idea Link's Design & Architecture Sprint costs €7,000-15,000 over two to four weeks; builds start at €20,000-40,000.
- Azumo's discovery costs up to $10,000 or more, and its AI proof of concept costs $10,000-$50,000 over four to eight weeks.
- InData Labs prices a proof of concept or MVP at $15,000-$50,000.
- Miquido's AI Kickstarter starts at $15,000 for one generative AI solution in three to five weeks.
The rest of the price depends on the same things as any software project: how many systems the AI has to read from and write to, how clean the data is, and how much testing a wrong answer requires. A chatbot that drafts marketing copy and an agent that approves loans don't cost the same. They shouldn't.

Frequently asked questions
What are the top 10 AI consulting companies?
By brand, the firms ChatGPT names first are McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, PwC and EY. By our six criteria for mid-sized buyers, the top ten are 10Clouds, Netguru, Vstorm, InData Labs, Idea Link, deepsense.ai, Azumo, Addepto, Boldare and Miquido. The lists don't overlap because they answer different questions: which firms advise the largest companies, and which firms will advise and build for yours. The best AI consulting firms for a global enterprise aren't automatically the best fit for a smaller company.
Who are the Big 4 in AI consulting?
The Big Four are the four largest professional services networks: Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC (Wikipedia). In our test, ChatGPT named Deloitte, PwC and EY, and we profile Deloitte above.
What does an AI consulting firm do?
An AI consulting firm helps a company decide where AI is worth using and what it will cost, often through workshops, a data review and a ranked list of use cases with a business case. Better firms then build the system, connect it to your existing software, test it and hand it over. Firms that stop at strategy leave you to find another company for the work where many projects fail.
How much does an AI consultant cost?
On Clutch, the mid-market firms here charge $25-$49 to $100-$149 an hour, with minimum projects from $5,000 to $100,000. Published first steps range from Netguru's EUR 3,000 workshop to proofs of concept at $10,000-$50,000. Idea Link's Design & Architecture Sprint costs €7,000-15,000. The enterprise firms don't publish prices.
How long does an AI consulting engagement take?
The published consulting phases on this list run from a few hours to three months. Netguru's workshop takes three to six hours, Boldare's sprint one to two weeks, InData Labs' readiness assessment one to two weeks, Idea Link's Sprint two to four weeks, Vstorm's advisory four to eight weeks and 10Clouds' Managed AI Roadmap eight to twelve weeks. A proof of concept typically adds four to eight weeks.
Should a mid-sized company hire McKinsey or a specialist?
If your revenue is above $300 million and AI is a company-wide programme, the large firms are built for that scale, and Accenture Edge serves exactly that band. Below it, a specialist that publishes its first step, price and a named production case is easier to assess before you sign. Deloitte Private's survey suggests smaller companies see returns from AI far less often, which is a reason to start with a smaller, well-scoped project.
The first step
If you want AI inside the systems your company runs on, and would rather see the plan and price before committing to a build, start with our Design & Architecture Sprint: a fixed-scope, fixed-price engagement that ends with a blueprint, a build plan and a real quote.
